Araha Beach

Araha Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Chatan Town, with a 600-meter-long stretch of white sand and crystal-clear water surrounded by beautiful coral reefs. More than 20 kinds of water activities can be enjoyed at the beach, including various choices the whole family can enjoy, such as sea kayaking, a glass bottom boat, snorkeling, raft fishing, and more demanding options for active people such as hoverboarding.

Advance reservations for these activities are highly recommended to make the most of your beach experience, especially during the summer months between July and mid-October, when the beach is full of fun-loving people.

Sea Kayaking

• Two kinds of kayaks are available: one-rider and two-rider. First, get guidance on land, and then go on water for kayaking. Paddle through the waves with your friends and have fun. This kayak rental package does not include instructor or guide service. The price listed is per 30 minutes. If you feel 30 minutes is not enough, we strongly recommend you book the activity for multiple sets in advance; Sea kayaking is a very popular activity, and you may not be able to extend your rental on the day of service.

Araha Island Kayak Tour

• Hop on your kayak, and away you go! Visit Araha Island, an uninhabited island about 200 meters from Araha Beach. It takes about 10 minutes paddling to reach the island. The island is home to hermit crabs, rabbits, wild birds, and many other creatures, and you can also enjoy beach-combing as there are many corals and large shells on the beach. Spend your time exploring nature as you wish.

Glass-bottom Boat

• The glass-bottom boat ride will carry you into the coral forest, located about 300 meters from Araha Beach, a five-minute ride. The boat has a canopy, which provides protection against the sun. During the ride, you will be amazed at the amount of coral while enjoying the oceanfront view of Chatan Town.

Boat Snorkeling

• Some of the best diving/snorkeling points can be found along the coast of Chatan Town. The waters off Araha Beach offer a great snorkeling experience with a wide variety of coral and sea life. You will be transported to the snorkeling point by boat, approximately a 5-minute boat ride from the beach. All participants must wear lifejackets, so it’s safe and easy even for non-swimmers. The instructor holds a pre-activity briefing before you dive into the water and start exploring the beautiful underwater world among beautiful coral reefs while feeding tropical fish. The marine staff will shoot photos for memories of your snorkeling and send them to you via email.

Tubing Triple Set

• This package offers three popular marine tube rides to be chosen from: Dragon Board (10),  Marble (4), and Trinity (4). Participants can save money and enjoy them all by purchasing the package. Ranging from an exciting ride at high speed to an easy ride at low speed, various options are available, allowing both novice and thrill lovers to enjoy the rides to the fullest. For a big group wanting thrills together, we recommend the banana boat that can hold up to 10 people!

Parasailing

Parasailing is an airborne activity in which participants glide under a parachute pulled by a speedboat, similar to flying a kite. Parasailing will take participants up into the sky and offer magnificent views. Experience the feeling of freedom! Don’t have a swimsuit? Don’t worry! You can enjoy parasailing in whatever clothes you wear because you don’t have to get wet!

Parasailing & Tubing Triple Set

The adrenaline-pumping active set course takes you to experience the thrill of parasailing and the classic marine leisure activity of tubing three times! You can choose the tubes to ride after seeing them at the site. After parasailing (10 minutes), you can select three different tubing activities (10 minutes x 3 times).

The set includes 10 minutes of parasailing followed by a 30-minute snorkeling tour. A 5-minute boat ride takes you to the “Coral Forest” and “Colorful Fish” observation point off Araha Beach. A free underwater photo data and fish feeding service are included.

Cancellation policy

• - Cancellations made 2 days prior to the service date will be charged 25 percent of the quoted full rate as a cancellation fee.
• - Cancellations made 1 day prior to the service date will be charged 50 percent of the quoted full rate as a cancellation fee.
• - Cancellations made on the same day of service will be charged the quoted full rate as a cancellation fee.
• - Please inform us of any cancellation at least three days prior to the service date in order to avoid any cancellation fees.
• - All cancellations must be received by Island Life Concierge during office hours. Office hours: Monday-Friday 9:00-17:00 (local Japanese time)
• - A full refund will be issued for the activities canceled by the operator due to inclement weather, typhoon or other unforeseen circumstances.

Reservation deadline

High season (April-October)

• - Reservations made by email or through the online reservation form: By 15:00 the day before the desired date
• - Phone reservations: Any time during the normal business hours

Low season (November-March)

• - All reservations: Three days in advance (reservations accepted until 17:00)
• - Last-minute reservations after the email/online reservation deadline can be accepted exclusively by phone. Same-day reservations accepted during the high season, although advance reservations are strongly recommended to avoid waiting time.
